Bike Fitting Services

Handlebar Cyclery Bike Fitting with Jay Jackson

Bike fitting enables cyclists of all ages and experience levels to find the perfect riding position.  Jay uses over 15 years of fitting experience to get you dialed into your ideal position.  Offerings include pre-fitting for finding the right new bike, or fitting of your current bike.  Fitting services start with your feet, shoes, cleats, previous injuries and current issues before even starting the actual bike fit.  With a 90-day post-fit adjustment window, Jay uses rider feedback to make sure he tweaks your bike as close to perfect as possible.  At the end of the day, Jay's main focus is not on getting you into any one specific ideal position, but instead, his focus is on listening to you and moving you into the position that is best for you and your goals.  Upon completion of your fitting session, you will be provided with a full array of position measurements, allowing you to apply the same measurements to a rental bike when traveling, a new bike, other bikes in your fleet, or even to be used for a custom frame build.

Fit sessions can be scheduled Monday-Thursday mornings, or Friday from 8am-5pm, and fitting is not limited to any one type of bike - all riders can benefit from a solid bike fit on any type of bike they ride.

Who Should Get a Bike Fit?

Anyone who spends any length of time riding a bicycle will benefit greatly from getting a professional bike fit.  Whether you’re riding 10 miles around the neighborhood or 3,000 miles across the country, a professional bike fit will make a huge difference in your riding comfort, performance and overall enjoyment of cycling.

Benefits of a Proper Bike Fit

Getting properly fit can:

Reduce pain and improve overall riding comfort

Help prevent cycling-induced repetitive stress injuries

Increase your efficiency and cycling speed

Increase your bike handling ability and safety

Help you get more enjoyment out of cycling

A good bike fit will have you waking up in the morning saying “I can’t wait to ride my bike!”

When Should You Get a Bike Fit?

The ideal time to get a bike fit is before you buy a bike, so you can select one that is best suited to your body geometry and riding preferences. If you’re not in the market for a new bike, that’s okay too. A bike fit can also give you the optimum riding position for use on your current bike.

Fit Packages

Existing Bike Optimization  Book Appointment

The optimization fitting experience begins with the foundation of a fit: YOU!  Are you happy with the bike you currently have, or are you looking for something different? How often do you plan on riding? What is your intended use – casual fitness, long distance rides, racing?  What pains do you have?  Any past injuries?  All the previous questions provide valuable information to help find your best positioning on the bike.  We assess all touch points and their proper sizing for YOU, including bar width and reach, saddle shape/width and pressure, stem length, crank length, shoes and insoles, cleat positioning, pedal q-factor, and more.

When done, you’ll have an ideal balance of comfort and efficiency – allowing you to ride longer and faster.
